Career Indaba brought to you by Multichoice, is the No.1 further education and career guidance event in South Africa, which aims to provide students, parents and teachers with practical knowledge on how students can succeed in their lives after school and studying … and beyond.
This free event, takes place on Sunday 5th and Monday 6th March 2017 in Joahnnesburg and is a must for all parents and kids that are on the brink of making their study and career choices – undoubtably the most critical decisions they will ever make.

Centrally located at the Sandton Convention Centre in Exhibition Hall 2, Career Indaba plays host to over 20 interactive self-development workshop sessions and two days of networking opportunities with 80 top corporates companies and further education institutions on hand, visitors are guaranteed to get real advice, from real people, all free of charge!

This year Career Indaba will host its 3rd edition of the annual Parent Networking Event which is sponsored by Open Window and Inscape Education Group on Sunday 5th March between 2pm and 5pm at the Sandton Convention Centre. This event offers dedicated time where parents have the opportunity to have one-on-one conversations with top employers and education institutions about possible career and study paths for their child. We have strategically moved the dates of Career Indaba so that one day falls on the weekend. Parents who have full time jobs and school, college & university students who have weekday study commitments can now attend and walk the exhibition at their leisure as well as take full advantage of a jam-packed workshop programme which is full of real advice from real people. When Helen McIntee of Open Window was asked why they had come on board for this year’s event. The Open Window Institute (OWI) is participating in this year’s Career Indaba as it fully recognises that this high profile event is an excellent way of reaching thousands of young South African school leavers. These are youngsters who are eager to examine all the exciting options open to them within the areas of further education and employment. OWI will be showcasing their sought after qualifications (96% graduate job placement) in the areas of Film arts, Interactive arts and Design studies along with communicating stimulating and exciting OWI student life and campus activities and events.

For exhibitors, Career Indaba brings together a multitude of ages from 16-25+ who all have the same ambition to empower themselves to succeed. This unique element to Career Indaba means that not only can you recruit your ideal candidate during the two-day event but create awareness of your institution or organisation to a generation who in a year or two will be in a position to apply.

Having experienced first-hand this type of evolutionary engagement between the learner and the organisation and then hearing the positive feedback from both parties, I am more confident than ever that Career Indaba serves a greater purpose which is undeniably important. Career Indaba is all about educating and empowering students to choose the career path which is right for them, thus boosting the viability of the South African economy for the future.
